Management adheres to a strict policy of Employment Equity (EE) and practices targeted recruitment with the objective to redress the imbalances caused by past discrimination. Management believes that existing talent, coupled with training programmes enables us to maintain high standards throughout the transformation process.

The company has succeeded in ensuring that 54% of employees are from designated groups. Approximately 20% of all employees are women, and almost 3% are from the disabled community, while 5% of the complement constitutes learnerships.

Diversity training is a key element of Powertech IST’s transformation strategy and is actively promoted by the company’s human resources department. Our induction programme includes concientising new recruits that we all have preconceived ideas and assumptions about other cultures and designated groups; however we need to accept that all people are equal and entitled to fair treatment and respect.

Employees enjoy an integrated yet rigorous programme of capacity building with long-term sustainability. Policies and procedures have been documented, approved and implemented to ensure this.
